Monitoring SATA Drive Activity

For many technical users, it is important to know what is going on during the operation of a computer by the use of various indicators. Most of these indicators are available for viewing on the computer's front panel.

Up until now, storage device activity has only been indicated by one flashing LED. Today, many computers have NO drive activity indicator. Where more activity monitoring is desired, our SATA-LIGHT device creates a drive activity light for each SATA drive. This is a convenient way to see each drive's activity.

This adapter does not conflict or interfere with any built-in drive activity lights,or any software drivers or applications. The SATA-LIGHT device works with all operating systems, but requires no device drivers or Operating System interaction or support.

The unit is connected between the power supply and all four hard drives. Five cables are connected to the unit's circuit board. Care must be taken in connecting these cables, or the unit may be damaged.

One connects to the system power supply Molex (LP4) female connector, with a Molex (LP4) male conector

Four connect each to a hard drive power connector which is a Molex (LP4) male connector, with the female Molex (LP3) from the circit board cable. This connector may be changed to a SATA power connector with an adapter cable containing a Molex (LP4) male to a SATA female power connector.
