Most of these indicators are available for viewing on the computer's front panel. Up until now, storage device activity has only been indicated by one flashing LED. Where more activity monitoring is desired, our SATA-LIGHT device creates a drive activity light for each SATA drive. This is a convenient way to see each drive's activity. You must use one SATA-LIGHT unit plus one LED for each drive to be monitored. If you use a solid state drive (SSD) plus a conventional (rotating media) hard drive combination, one of these on each drive will indicate that both are working, and the amount of activity for each drive. It can assure you that BOTH drives in a "mirror" (RAID 1) configuration are being accessed, and that the RAID (array) is not "broken". Although this unit does NOT INCLUDE AN LED, they are available elsewhere on this website. This adapter does not conflict or interfere with any built-in drive activity lights,or any software drivers or applications. The SATA-LIGHT device works with all operating systems, but requires no device drivers or Operating System interaction or support.
